I have an Acer X223W screen with only a VGA port available so I have to use an hdmi adapter to use my RX 470 graphic card.

The problem is I'm getting too much screen flickering (looks like there are bands rolling on the screen) while playing either The Witcher 3 (2015) or even Mass Effect (2008) but not in VTMB (2005).

I've tried everything from ingame Vsync to Radeon's Enhanced Sync to changing video settings ingame. Either low or ultra in TW3, the flickering is the same. Vsync should solve the flicker problem, but obviously it's not working. I want to change the screen eventually only if I'm certain it will solve the problem...Any advice appreciated.
