Tech support thread for August, 2022 -- ask your tech support questions in this thread, please

I am trying to install the AMDGPU stack using amd's tool for doing so. I installed the script and followed the documentation (amdgpu-install.readthedocs.io/en/latest/install-script.html), but the installation stops and I get the following: "The following packages have unmet dependencies: rocm-llvm : Depends: python but it is not installable Depends: libstdc++-5-dev but it is not installable or libstdc++-7-dev but it is not installable Depends: libgcc-5-dev but it is not installable or libgcc-7-dev but it is not installable Recommends: g++ but it is not going to be installed Recommends: gcc-multilib but it is not going to be installed Recommends: g++-multilib but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages."

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm running Mint 21, and the installer I used is for Ubuntu 20.04 (because I believe that's the version Mint 21 is based on).
