Teen daughter with crippling anxiety

My EMDR therapist told me that the word on the street at their conferences is that EMDR is most effective when the patient is not on medication. This is not easy to achieve. One might be able to do better by increasing the frequency of sessions. One can also supplement with neurofeedback or a light and sound system. Some other tips: get her outdoors into morning light. Make sure she is getting enough vitamin D and Omega threes. Walking might help, or other exercise. My experience with a twelve year battle with medication-resistant anxiety and depression is that psychologists have a more sophisticated repertoire of effective research-based treatments than psychiatrists, unless you can find a psychiatrist trained in Europe.
