My biggest reason for having my kids so young was for health reasons. The older you are, the more risks come with fertility and pregnancy. The rate of abnormalities with children's development increase with the age of the mother. That is a cold hard truth that one should not ignore. That being said, I did not become pregnant with my first until about 6mo after I graduated college at 24 yo. I simultaneously worked through my first few years of teaching pregnant and then pregnant with little ones. It was tough, but Im glad I did it young bc Im not sure I'd have the same stamina now at 34. I actually feel bad for moms just starting out parenting these days at my same age. I also do not love the narrative that women should wait SO long and then it becomes too late to become a mother. Anywho, I guess I am sharing bc we are all so different and we all are so judgey. Sometimes it helps to hear another's story and realize others' ways have worked for them!
