I have to say: I was brought up well as was my brother. From the age of 15, he randomly decided to get involved in gang activity and crime. My mother worked 2 jobs and still depended on benefits. I went on to University, and now am a teacher. My brother is older than me and has never had a job. He's been to prison. I've never knowingly broken a law. Do you think my poor mother would have deserved to be punished for him when she was already at wits end? I would have suffered too, would I have deserved that? I don't know what solution there is and I too am afraid of this situation, but I can't help but think of my own upbringing and how it could have been a different story if my mother hadn't been able to send me to college
