Teen pleads guilty in Michigan school shooting

There should be a storage law. Leaving an unsecured gun available to an unsupervised minor is negligent. Gun owners should definitely be held accountable for crimes committed with their weapon if they didn't take reasonable (I would LOVE legislation to define what that means) steps to prevent unintended access to said weapon. *Rights need to come with responsibilities and consequences.*

Our school shooting problem is two-fold: shit-parenting and ready access to firearms. Shit-parenting sets the stage. Ready access to firearms enables the tragic result. BOTH need to be addressed. This case is starting to address the first and it may be the only "good" thing to come out of this awful story.
