Teenager dies after shooting in east London

Try living in the area and making friends with the locals who live their there entire life and then really engaging with them to understand their own life story.

Because I skateboard as well it provides a more unique perspective as I engage with people particularly from younger age groups. As some as still in school and some post education it’s interesting to be able to identify their development process.

Also because I skate, I’m out in these areas a lot more outdoors and less indoors so I interact with not just the youth but drug peddlers and everyday locals. Who start to recognise you as being a local as well after some time.

I don’t recommend it, if you don’t have the grit for it especially and it’s IMO mentally damaging living their long term, but there is no book I’m aware of that addresses this as I’m speaking from life experiences. I’m a North Londoner by default so the parallels can be striking at times.
