This reminds me of a personal story of mine that happened to me and my two friends one night years ago in my apartment. We were playing Magic the Gathering and after playing a few games I decided to go upstairs to check my email in my room. It was about 2AM, and I heard a knock at the door downstairs. One of my friends was my roommate so I figured he would answer it. It wasn't uncommon for us to have visitors that late, so I didn't think too much of it. That was until I heard gunshots and it seriously felt like time stood still. Unfortunately I did not own a gun at the time. So I grabbed the first thing I could think of, my guitar. Thinking I might be shot next I stood next to the door with my guitar in hand waiting to hit someone by surprise. I heard walking up the stairs and moaning, and find out (thank god) that my friends were both shot but still alive. Now getting to my point: I called 911 and spoke with an operator explaining the situation. I was scared for my friends condition and asked more than once if they could hurry. I'll never forget the operators words as if he was irritated saying "ENOUGH OF THAT SIR!". At the time I didn't think anything of it, because I was more worried and traumatized about the situation at hand with my friends. Later on I listened to the 911 call my brother put on youtube (I'm trying to find the video, I'll link later. Might need to have bro put it up again) and I heard just how inconsiderate this jackass was to me, especially at a time like this. Just in case you were wondering.. My friends both were sent to the hospital and both survived thankfully. There were no leads on the shooter, and I think they just thought it was a random shooting for an initiation to a gang or something. Still crazy to think back about that night, if I would've answered the door I might not be alive today. My friend told me he batted the revolver away from his face when he answered the door. Friend who answered the door got shot in the hip, and other friend shot in the back. We laugh and joke about how he did a real-life matrix bullet dodge.
