For Seidgard, one of the most famous women is Rova Ensadottr, better known by her skaldic title “Troll-Friend.” She was a historical scholar, skald, and explorer made famous by her exploits in the days of the Endless Tempest. Most notably, she was the only known human to document a trollmoot, and the only person to record first-hand accounts of all three major troll varieties; hill trolls, deep trolls, and steppe trolls.

While her travels in the north and her life with the trollkin is considered her greatest achievement, Rova was also a celebrated skald, credited with over fifty songs and eddas, a regional history of Selardal (published under her given name), and a historical account of Emperor Klaus VI Moldov's efforts to colonize Seidgard.
