Tell me about feminism outside

Well, I think this topic is really complicated. As a female from the US, my opinion might vary from others.

The feminist movement in the US is fighting for equal rights for men and women. In Korea, on the otherhand, the feminist movement has taken it a step further where some extremists are demanding MORE rights than men. To me, this is a problem.

Perhaps you've noticed women's only parking spots before....these spots are wider and also closer to entrances (sometimes in better locations than handicapped spaces!). In some office buildings, the first floor of parking is entirely for women and men aren't allowed to park there at all. Women also get days off of work for their periods every month, but my female Korean coworkers openly say that they just use these days for fun rather than for their intended purpose causing a lot of tension between male and female workers in the office. I don't really care about these things. To me, they undermine the real purpose of feminism. In my opinion, feminists don't need to fight for wider parking spots or extra vacation days when there are MUCH more important issues in Korea regarding gender equality such as employment opportunities, salaries, education, etc.

What really affected my opinion of the "extreme feminists" in Korea, however, was something I recently became aware of....In Naver Cafes recently, there have been feminist groups attacking not just Korean men, but spouses of foreign men. I was recently a victim of this. A forum posted photos of myself and my Korean spouse online and critiqued both of us based on our appearance and made assumptions about our personalities and intelligence for no reason other than their hatred towards Korean men. There were HUNDREDS of horrible comments....some even saying that they should just kill us both. After seeing so many similar posts attacking other international couples I really don't understand how the police aren't involved. The things they are saying are so just so vile...talking about torturing Korean men, killing them, cutting off their genitals....its so shocking. I really can't support the feminist movement after I found out about this.
