Tell me more about your civilisations inspired by the Roman Empire

I didn't want to create a direct roman expy but at the same time they are too interesting to do nothing with them, so i took some aspects from the for one culture and some for another.

The most inspiration from the Romans I took for the dwarven underempire. In the times before the great War, before the empires of the Elves and Men destroyed each other and almost the world, there was a third contender for most poweful:
The Dwarven Underempire. How exactly this empire was established is lost knowledge, along with much of the knowledge of it's exact nature, for reasons that will become apparent later. It's networks of tunnels and holds seems to have spanned the entire planet and connected every continent. Its capital Uldumar is considered to have been very deep underground though the actual location is also lost. What is better remembered are it's language, it's system of governance, and it's military because all of these have survived in some forms to this day. The empire was headed by a High King and the Senate of Uldumar, though who exactly had the power seems to have varied wildly. Sometimes the High Kings were nothing but puppets of the Senate and sometimes the High King could freely ignore their wishes. The exact Method by which a High King was decided does not seem to have been
