Telling someone that they're "Acting White" needs to stop

Take this with a grain of salt, but my impression of statements like that is that they are prime examples of people trying to drag others down to their level so they might enjoy a less-insecure existence. After all, if no one in a social circle can correctly pronounce a given word, who is there to remind them that they're bastardizing the English language? People of any race might do this sort of thing (dragging others down). I've had people try to make me feel uncomfortable (at various points in my life) for having new clothes, being in shape, having a rock-solid traditional American sedan... you name it-anything they might perceive as "greater than that which they possess". It speaks to the "lowest-common-denominator-as-a-standard/ignorance-as-proof-of-authenticity" mindset that so many hold dear. One time a white coworker of mine said that I was acting too white, and I'm a white guy. Blows my mind...
