Be careful there! The rules were not rewritten, the son of God arrived to fulfill these laws, but they are still there. Keep in mind I'm not saying the Bible says we should follow the old laws, I'm only saying that those old laws are still in existence and HAVE to be treated as such. Again, the old laws are NOT in effect, but there is scripture specifically about this exact thing.

MAT 5:17-19

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

In my understanding, this is exerting that the old laws are not a living document, they are put to rest but they have NOT disappeared.
