Tennis rule question (abuse of other player)

i think another relevant rule here would be regarding ball abuse, as far as penalizing the offender goes. at the USTA level first offense for ball or racquet abuse is a point penalty, and if a player is slamming a ball out of anger to the point where they hit an opponent with it i think it definitely qualifies as ball abuse.

@OP, assuming that there is no injury involved, an official or referee could consider this ball abuse and issue a point penalty depending on the exact circumstances of the situation (if they were consistently acting in a frustrated or angry manner as you've mentioned then it would almost definitely receive a penalty).
