Saying "We don't talk to Africans" would immediately connect Africans to the race of people, not to just a continent or country of people. Obviously people are going to be talking about how that's a racist af thing to say. You can't be racist against Australians. If Jeff Horn said "We don't talk to Americans" or if Deontay Wilder suddenly stopped allowing British journalists to interview him there wouldn't be any racial outrage either (Though Brits and Americans would probably get peeved just like the Aussies are doing here), it would obviously be seen as the nationalistic ego behind each fighter.

I personally don't mind this kind of thing. I kinda like the national rivalries whenever they pop up in Boxing as much as I rail against overzealous British fans. Speaking of that reminds me how excited I am for Wilder-Joshua to finally get made, the atmosphere for the lead-up and the fight itself is gonna be great.
