Tesla Autopilot Is Just Better Cruise Control — Anyone Who Thinks It Should Be Banned Is Acting Stupid By Zachary Shahan, CleanTechnica

The confusion about a car's ability is rampant even on Reddit. My Mach-E comes out the box capable of everything a Tesla is capable of out the box when it comes to "Better Cruise Control". That is lane keep assist, intelligent cruise control and a myriad of collision avoidance features. Ford does not market this as self-driving though, whereas people really believe Teslas can drive themselves. Like Tesla, I can use these features from Ford on any road.

When Ford announced Blue Cruise (stupid name) I saw people on various subs saying it was a rip off because they are charging to do what Tesla does for no additional payment. That was incorrect.

Nobody should ban Tesla's "just better cruise control" but I do think there is poor marketing around the feature set. The marketing as worked as people believe Tesla is the only vehicle with these features but truth be told they're pretty vanilla and have been on cars for years. Tesla is just the only company marketing it as "autopilot" whereas the rest call them advanced driver assist or co-pilot or something similar.
