Model S P100D 4k miles.

My car went into “jack mode” as i was backing up from a parking space. There was no warning messages or anything. Front suspension lowered so much that my front bumper was laying on a curb as i started driving. Once i heard the grinding noise i stopped right away but front bumper is scraped and plastic underside is damaged as well. Not much damage but still. I feel it will be about $500 to $1500 in repairs. Hard to estimate at this point.

Had the car towed for repairs and just got a text/email to come and pick it up. Here is what they repair sheet says

”No abnormal alerts found for this vehicle.. No warning lamps or anything related besides TAS_a200_jackModeActive. Removed frunk and inspected air compressor, valve block, and all air lines for leaks with soapy water, none found. Monitored suspension levels while cycling heights, no issues to report. Viewed carlogs and query data and found suspension did lower at 8/30/2019 at 8:16 am, compared that to syslog data and noticed the vehicle lowered based on speed. Checked setting on mcu and it was set to ALWAYS set to low, changed setting to 65mph, customer education.”

Several questions: 1. Anyone had a similar issue? 2. If my car will go in a “jack mode” again when im driving on a freeway i feel that i might damage my car or might not be able to steer since wheels are pretty much inside wheel arcs. 3. During repairs car was driven ~25 miles. Im not too worried about that but seems extensive. 4. Front air strut was replaced as well for unrelated issue. Do i need to have alignment done again?

Any feedback is appreciated. Im really uneasy about picking up a car with the issue they couldn’t figure out.
