The Tesla Model 3 Performance is The Fastest EV Under $100k - One Take - YouTube

He mentions that he finds himself speeding a lot (and possibly "driving like a dick") because the car feels more forgiving - you don't feel like you're beating up the car.

However, after getting an EV myself I have to disagree. Strangely, I find myself driving much nicer in our EV compared to our gas hot hatch - and the EV is much faster.

After realizing how much power and how fun the EV is to drive, I realized that I never see Tesla drivers flying around the road all crazy like. In fact, they are some of the most complacent - and sometimes annoyingly slow drivers -I've seen on the road. My wife feels the same way. And we live in SoCal where it feels like half the cars on the road are Teslas.

I think it comes down to a couple things. 1) The ride is just pleasant, you don't feel like you're having a fight with the car. The instant torque is something I miss terribly in a gas car - hitting the pedal and nothing happens for a second or two, arghh. And 2) is energy conservation. You are thinking about how much power you are using all the time since the car shows you. Electric is super cheap compared to gas, but you still feel like you want to be conservative.
