Tesla’s enormous battery in South Australia has led to massive drop in costs of backing up region’s power supply, potentially saving local people millions of dollars. New figures suggested new system, which is powered by wind turbines, has reduced price of expensive power outages by 90%.

Great, wonderful, now can they go back to actually making batteries for all the people who ordered and paid for them here in the states? I paid for a power wall six months ago, but the model three manufacturing issues, and Elon randomly deciding to shunt all the batteries to Australia to show off, means that they are now back ordered and there is no ETA on when I’m going to get mine.

They have $7k of my money, it’s a really intrinsic and important part of my solar installation for it to make sense financially, and they don’t seem to care. They even suggested I go back and modify my permit application with the city to not include one, as though that were a perfectly reasonable suggestion.

I even asked some random dude at Home Depot still selling Tesla batteries when they were actually being delivered, and he just shrugged awkwardly and conceded that it could be a year. I asked if he was mentioning that important little detail to people he sold batteries to, and he said the marketing department won’t let him.
