Tesla Semi shows off impressive acceleration in final testing ahead of deliveries [Video]

There’s going to be quite some growing pains for operators that drive like this and multiply their tire bills by 5x. Heavy truck tires aren’t made for that much low speed torque and are going to get scrubbed to hell being pushed like that. 10 years ago the industry had to pull back on acceleration as advances in engines were tearing through equipment. Are we just repeating the same mistakes? Because these newer,Smartway tires are even worse with the compromises made for rolling resistance.

Tesla is just asking to turn all that energy savings into tire manufacturing promoting driving like this. If the goal is actually efficiency things need to slow down.
