Fernando Tatis Jr. cited his reception on Opening Day 2019 (his first major league game) as the moment he realized San Diego was "home" for him. He said that was the moment it clicked that this is where he wanted to spend his career. I remember a lot of us on this sub being hyped about Tatis. Somehow we knew he was something special. You can watch his first at-bat here. Notice how loud our crowd got when he was announced and how loud we got when he got a hit. His reception even seemed to be as loud as Machado, a proven superstar who was the biggest signing in franchise history. We have an amazing fanbase and you all really stepped up at that moment without realizing how important it would be.
