Could I borrow someone’s ear for a little bit I have a lot of questions about LN and plain old bitcoin.

When I watch older videos of bitcoin from a few years ago I think it was Andreas maybe it was Ver I don’t remember.

They had people in the crowd set up wallets and send them 1000 yen worth. He scanned the QR code and boom instantly they had it. He wasn’t concerned with half of the transaction amount being eaten up by fees nor waiting hours for them to get it.

Now I understand a new block is roughly every ten mins and there is only so much room in them for transactions.

With LN we will be back to the close to instant transfers and fees we don’t bat a eye at right?

That being said to get on and off the LN will cost a fee to register your whatever changes you made with your BTC right? This fee won’t be a fee that is small right? What would be a current day example of this? A money order? A wire transfer? Western union? Could has swore I heard BTC was the answer to not have to deal with that type of service and the fees they charged you?

That last statement sounds like shill? Is that what it’s called? I honestly love btc. I love that nobody but me has control of my funds and would love for this to be our store of value or everyday currency. It’s awesome. I just don’t like the fees.

Maybe it’s because right now there is to much traffic and I can’t send my buddy 50 bucks worth of bitcoin to show him how it all works because I’ll pay a hefty fee and I’m salty about telling him hey man this is awesome but ummm we can’t use it right now but trust me it’s awesome.

Please tell me I’ve got it all wrong and the days of being able to say “Hey check this out make a wallet I’ll send you some instantly ( not having to worry about fees as well) are around the corner with LN. Please someone explain it to me. I feel like a idiot when I can’t show someone how it works because of said issues.

I know this comment was bouncing around a lot but I can’t find the answers to my questions I just want to be at ease.
