Why is testosterone a controlled substance?

I think you’ve asked some interesting questions here but also made some very big assumptions that aren’t true.

Estrogens and Progesterones etc are definitely controlled substances lots of places too. A lot of this depends on which country you are talking about.

I live in the US and I can’t just walk into the drug store and buy any of the medications I’ve used as a mtf transitioner off the shelf. I have to have a prescription.

It’s that way in just about every westernized or developed country that I can think of.

I think it may seem like there’s something “unfair” going on where oh yeah those trans women sure have it good compared to trans men but if you look into it realistically- that is not the case.

I am not familiar with the ftm world at all but I am sure that there are ftm people in other countries resorting to diy- because they have to.

I think if you look deeply at these issues it really comes down to what you believe in, and how the country you live in might affect your ability to make those decisions for yourself.
