Texas passes law that bans kicking people off social media based on ‘viewpoint’

Probably nothing because you can create your own sub, not completely banned from the site and from having a voice. I’m the same way you could be banned from a sub for spamming shitposts. I tend to agree with “my platform, my rules”. But arguments of platform vs. publisher and “town square” argument in the comment above I do believe holds some merit.

Not to mention the Parler scenario. Ok someone made their own app bc they were sick of being banned and censored. But then when the app stores refused to carry it, now you have to make your own smartphones and compete with giant tech corps just to have a platform to voice your opinions? And we’re talking perfectly legal opinions, political views. Not threats, hateful vitriol, and harassment that’s obviously beyond just free speech.
