Gill holds personal ties to Hudspeth County through the 32,000-acre Circle Ranch, a property owned by her in-laws. At the court hearing, she acknowledged that Landersman — her boss at the Pentagon and a fellow onetime Marine — had visited the ranch on at least four occasions.
In a brief line of questioning, prosecutors asked Gill whether she and Landersman had tried to set up a military training centre at the ranch, along with new roads, an airstrip and $14,000 worth of radios from the Defense Department.
Most obvious attempt to set up a smuggling operation ever? $14,000 is neither enough for a Sheriff's department radios or small enough to be nothing.

The watchdog office, which declined a request for comment, found in a 2010 report that the county wasn't totally fault-free. Hudspeth County received too much money — about $480,000 — because of improper claims for reimbursement between 2002 and the first half of 2008, out of nearly $6.2 million it received over those years.
Also: why did working at the Pentagon not warrant this woman Gill to carry a firearm while flying but working as a goddamned Sheriff's Deputy comes with the constant threat of death from the Cartel (her words to justify being strapped in air). The actual police in the state aren't under constant threat but these Deputies from 1600 miles away are a breath away from being captured flying to and from WASHINGTON DC?! Shouldn't we be more concerned about the fact someone is legitimately worried about armed Cartel members making it to the capitol and/or any other flight for that matter?
I'm not saying its obvious corruption covering up obvious crimes because frankly, it really could be a bunch of coincidence and innocents and legit concerns. Hah.
