The Reddit lawyers are absolutely hilarious. There is likely no district in the US where this guy goes on trial for murder, and rightfully so. Different case if he fired a couple shots, went away to do something else - and than came back to shoot someone who was clearly no longer a threat. But this rapid fire instance will go to trial exactly 0 times.
You also don’t shoot to wound or incapacitate - if you pull a gun, it is with intent to kill. Real life isn’t the movies with instant gunshot incapacitation - people shake off shots or get back up or remain threats routinely. He was perfectly justified - both legally and practically - in ensuring the armed robber was no longer a threat.
