TF2 Balance Ideas

this entire post makes me sick.

force a nature- soda popper doesnt have push back, that's the trade off. that's why you get kicked in mvm for using the soda popper.

fan o war-no it isnt better to shoot them at melee range. i can take down a heavy with 3-4 shots now after i hit them with the fan, you arent supposed to use it to deal real damage, its meant for combos. that's the entire point of it.

atomizer- if you used it with the baby face, then this would clearly be OP

liberty launcher -arguably the best to rocket jump with, idek what you're talking about. it's a cross between stock and rocket jumper. you can rocket jump with it w/out murdering yourself while being able to use it offensively. most ppl dont use the airstrike b/c it requires you to get several kills b4 it becomes powerful, which most ppl dont want to do b/c they'd lose most 1v1 w/ enemy soldiers. and heavies. and pyros. and scouts. etc. not every weapon is meant to be used competitively. you can have great fun using the liberty with the market gardener and mantreads. or whatever else you feel like doing. no one has ever complained about the liberty launcher.

afterburn/air blast- flamethrower crits will wreck you up, having afterburns do crits to is OP. killing ppl with afterburn still happens. theres only so many med packs around. as long as you target 1 person at a time with kritz, you're gonna get kills with it, it isnt like its hard to kill ppl with a flamethrower. this would give m1+w pyros too much power. airblasting stickies away from you in mid air is already enough to not get killed by them.

backburner- not being able to deflect rockets and pipes as much is there to make you more vulnerable to counterbalance the fact that you get guaranteed crits yourself. by removing the cost to airblast and minicrited reflections, you're basically just switching a pro with a con, not really balancing anything anyway. you usually dont kill ppl with reflections, its mostly a defensive tool. by giving the backburner this defensive capability back, you are making him much stronger.

phlog- ppl already think it's OP. not everyone, that's always up for debate. giving it more damage would be OP. giving it reandom crits would build its counter up much faster and then it'd be even harder to kill if resistance is even higher. it can already take out a group of ppl. nobody says it needs more damage. the ppl that defend it as not being OP say it should just stay as it is. you're only making it more powerful here.

scorch shot- honestly i think you just think everything is too weak. the push back is great for defense. the price of damage is worth being able to push back uber rushes. i think most ppl prefer it to the detonator, but then everyone prefers the flaregun over both of them anyway.

detonator- the caveat to the detonator and scorch shot is that they can kill stickies, something the flare gun cant. i dont use either of them because the flaregun is all around just more useful, so i dont have much to say about either of them.

third degree- you can do what you like to this one, every one is still going to use the powerjack/axetinguisher/ rake/ homewrecker lol

ScoRes- it is used. on defense. you can cover multiple areas with it, thats its whole appeal. you can put 5 on the point, 5 on that popular doorway, and 4 on that path over there. you can pop one surface without having to put all of them back up. and it already has a higher rate of fire than the stock. it's fine as it is. with your buff they'd be able to fire them across the map with no worry of death. its increased ammo reserve helps this problem too.

i got tired of reading all of these b/c they all suck, so here's the ones that REALLY stood out.

Natasha- ppl use it for defense. the guys that do use it dont have problems killing ppl becasue of the slowness. taking that away AND adding spin up time turns it into a crappy brass beast.

tomislav- you can now ninja with heavy, hide behind a wall and shoot babies in the back. its great for defense.

dispenser- dude you hunker down and defend a spot. thats the engis entire (main) job. this is a team based game. you're supposed to work as a team to take out sentries. you just want to walk around a map without a care in the world i suggest you go back to playing runescape.

huntsman- jumping with any weapon ever already makes it harder to shoot accurately.

bushwacka- that's a straight buff to the stock.

spy- dude ppl use all the pistols. it takes a lot of skill to use the amby, so most ppl dont use it, its just the ones that do are awesome with it. do you play in pubs, like, ever?

almost everything you said was a buff, probably to advance your own play styles. i feel like you sort of just dont understand the roles most of the classes have, or the part these weapons each play in those roles. you've made everything less strategic and just better at killing stuff by using less thought. ppl say m1+w pyros take no skill, but you're dumbing down everything. do you just think these are too confusing for new players, is that it? gabe? gabe is that you?
