TFA Spearmint concentrate.

For me, even .5% seems like too much -- Going above .5 (I've mixed at 1, 2, 3 and 5 previously) is far too bitter and leafy even at lower percentages, for me, however after a couple of days at .5, it seems to settle down more to what I expect it should taste like. I haven't tried .25 yet, but I think that's where it might need to live to be[come] the flavor I'm looking for... I've considered a dilution, but I haven't played with it enough yet to make any recommendations with that approach -- I may experiment with a 2 or 3% concentrate and use that instead, but will probably just stick with .25 and build from there...

I've been trying to replicate a doublemint gum for the wife; she's in love with Double Minty Gum from FW at 7.5%, but I ran out recently and had to mix up an alternative while I wait on shipment -- My only stocked alternatives currently are FW Peppermint Candy (overly sweet and candy-like; tastes like a peppermint candy aftertaste tastes, and I think it might gunk faster) and Cool Mint (CAP) (which she says smells/reminds her of clove, which she's not fond of).

The recipe I just mixed a couple of days ago for her stand-by:

Spearmint (TPA) | .5% Peppermint (TPA) | 1% Peppermint (CAP) | 1% (Vanilla) Whipped Cream (CAP) | 1%

For me, it's still a little bit leafy/bitter, but after a couple of days settles down nicely -- I'll probably take the spearmint down to .25-.35; It's also a little creamier than I think it should be, but not at all bad; could probably go down to .5 on the whipped cream. I think it needs another touch of peppermint, so probably up to 1.5-2% for each (or 3-4% total using one or the other) or .5-1% Horehound...
