The nearest thing like it in French is 'fait acompli' it's already done before the actual act happens, The EU doesn't want the 'border' the 26 county republic of Ireland doesn't want the 'border' either and only one small section of Ireland want's it back in place and they're aren't even Irish by their own defination. By their own defination they are British 'subjects' the selective few who do hold some negotiating power over the majority.

So for the next few years at least 2-10 years maybe, it'll be redefining 'borders' between the 'selective few' and the British governments. It will never end and the Brits will never yeild one acre of land or one gallon of waterway when they want it.
