100% this post. Though, while telling a stranger they're wrong is going to be a touchy thing that's going to set off some people no matter what, I feel like the difficulty with communicating intentions usually goes both ways.

It is important to suck it up sometimes and take advice, but imo it's equally important to learn how to give advice if you're going to give it in the first place. I don't think it's exactly hard, it's just not. typical for online gaming communities to have basic courtesy. you wouldn't talk to someone face to face the way you do online, even if you don't have a speck of real malice, and newer players who are not too experienced with online gaming are going to be taken aback by that. even macroing a friendly opening line might help, if some of you are worried about your time.
