Szabo's analogy is not that apt, it's more like the Passengers arguing with the Pilot about The Flight Plan
Passengers = Users
Pilot = Miners
Core are the Engineers and Architects (generally on the ground)
it goes something like this
Pilot: Welcome aboard Flight 0.18.1 from New York to Philadelphia.
Passanger RV: But I would like to go to Los Angeles direct.
Pilot: I am afraid that's just not possible you will have to take 10 flights with a stopover in Kansas City
Passanger RV: But I need to make it to my Daughters Wedding.
Passenger SA: Well just get her to change her time preference and postpone it till you get there.
Pilot: I wish there was something I could do but the Plane will only make it as far as Philadelphia if we try to go any further it will drop out of the sky
Passenger NS: See listen to the Pilot he knows best.
Passenger GA: Mister Pilot, how much fuel did you put in the plane?
Pilot: We fill it 10% it's in the Flight Manual1 and it's what we have always done! The Ground Engineers tell us it's safer in case of crash landings.
