Thanks for today, Sweddit is taking a short break until morning

I just want to say thanks to everyone in r/Sweden. The_Donald honestly really ruined Reddit for me completely. Their hate spread into other subreddits and it really is destructive.

I'm tired. I'm tired of the racism. I know that Muslims and Arabs are just the scapegoat of our time, but man it just sucks. I work in nonprofit in the United States and in Canada. Even in the philanthropic community there's so much ignorance it's crazy. At work, at school, on the internet, just walking around, it's everywhere.

I live alongside a US/Canadian border and cross a lot doing a bunch of community projects, and the kind of shit I deal with the Border Patrol is on a different level. Every time I cross, I'm detained a minimum of 3 hours and they make me take off my shirt and shoes, leaving me with my pants on then pat me down. They fuckin know I'm crossing over to help build a healthier American community too.

So I decided to use it as a motivation. I decided to strive toward establishing a diverse philanthropic community, developing programs encouraging Arab-Americans to get involved in community service and fight hate with love.

I ask every Arab-American or Arab-Muslim to be proud. Go all in with whatever you're going into. Medicine? Sick, become the best God (allah?) damn American doctor out there. Law? Fuckin become the Supreme Court Judge or whatever. Engineering? Architecture? Programming? Molecular Biology? Chemical Engineering? Environment? Fuckin do it.

In my community there's lots of Arab-Muslim-Americans. In my friend group, just the people I even have in Facebook, all these young Arab-Americans are kicking so much ass it's crazy. Year after year our community pumps out a bunch of Ivy Leauge students, all Arab and Muslim, mostly girls too. Our community is known to be one dedicated to public service.

I'm kind of all over the place with this post. But I'll end with this, don't let the hate discourage you.

PM me if you ever need to talk to someone
