That's why I love socialism.

There are a lot of language problems so far in this thread. "Market" is not synonymous with "economy." Social democrats and all socialists advocate for varying degrees of a planned economy. It's not true that there isn't a consensus on that.

Social democrats are not anti-capitalist, but do intend to regulate markets with planned elements like nationalised essential services or robust welfare systems. It is very similar for democratic socialists, but their position is anti-capitalist. Their perspective, however, is to dismantle it gradually via similar reformist strategies to social democrats.

"Libertarian" / "Revolutionary" socialists, anarchists, etc. of various stripes all agree that the economy must be entirely planned around human need and workers' democratic process. The planned economy is also intended to dismantle the division of labour.

Whether you are a democratic socialist a libertarian socialist, the planned economy is antithetical to the market economy. I only describe socially democratic regulations as planned elements because that is their intention. In reality they are as subject to the market economy as all unregulated elements are.
