That's one smart billboard

Free speech isn't an absolute. There are laws limiting free speech in concerns to libel, slander, obscenities in media, incitements to violence and panic (fire in movie theater).

This free speech absolutism exists only in vacuums where marginalized people are not scapegoated as targets for violence and terror. It isn't a Klan member disparaging African-Americans, it's a Klan member who wants to orchestrate burning a cross in the yard as his friends surround a family to be murdered!

If we allowed the state to censor thought and speech, who's to say that wouldn't be exercised on us?

As you said, it already is exercised on us. It is not to suppress the voice of the dissident but to de-platform and suppress the voice of those whom advocate ethnic cleansing and genocide.

Everyone's opinion should be heard

No, not really. These opinions are already voiced and its logical conclusion is the legitimization and recruitment for violence against the vulnerable.

And voices of hate do not convince the reasonable of their bigotry, but rather recruits nascent, bigoted, alienated shits into a community of assholes, so that they might lash out against their victims. You think these assholes can be reasoned or debated from recruitment?

JFC.
