The the best thing Leafs should do know is nothing

The team has quietly been revamped in many ways tbh, people aren't noticing.

2016-17 - I think everyone agrees that this was a good year. Added Marleau in the off season, no other major moves.

2017-18 - 105 point season, definitely a step forward. But they were utterly dominated in the playoffs by Boston. They went out and got Tavares and lost Bozak and JVR. The loss of JVR was a lot more significant that people think. Him and Marner made that powerplay as godly as it was. Young stars took a huge step forward.

2018-19 - Weird year. They started off really well but had a losing record in the second half of the year. Took Boston to 7 again but the 7 games they played I thought were way better than the 7 from the prior year. Marner and Matthews took a big step forward, Nylander stalled. Two steps forward, one step back.

2019-20 - Matthews and Nylander both took a big step forward. Marner stalled but he had a 94 point season the previous year, it's not exactly easy to improve on that. The Barrie trade didn't work out, Dermott, Kapanen and Johnsson did not take the step forward I expected but Hyman did. Overall the team stalled. I think this is the year we started feeling the losses of depth guys like Bozak, Kadri, JVR, Brown etc.
