A couple pounds a week is real good, eventually you might quit loosing weight and that's when you should change things up. You are more likely to stick to this new lifestyle the way you are doing it, I think most people who make radical changes only do it temporarily and then just end up fatter then they where before. I think just have fun with it is the best way. But yeah weighing yourself once a day and only eating 1000 calories would be dumb thing to do like you said. Once a week to weigh yourself is good so you can eventually see if you want to make adjustments to what you eat.

I am the opposite i was skinny and had to gain weight, the best thing I did was eat the same thing every single day, as boring as that sounds it makes life so much easier cause you don't gotta think about nothing. Basically I would eat the same thing everyday but I could always replace a meal if I was out with friends or whatever.

I hope my unsolicited advice is better then hers, i just enjoy the subject.
