I'm pointing out that it seems like you're suggesting that people should just donate money willingly, which is a less likely idea than convincing people to simply add one word to the front of the website they shop on anyway and not have any other effect on their life. I was also trying to just help make clear that it's very possible it's not hundreds, as I said top end and it's just a guess. That guess also assumes all 80M Prime members bought stuff in 2017. I feel like you're literally just looking to argue with a feature that could benefit charities to the tune of around $1B a year and just getting dismissive because you only contributed $16. Many people, fair or foul, won't just donate money. They want to see a return on their hard earned money. Well, Smile allows them to get the exact item they want, at the regular Amazon price, while a small portion of that purchase goes to charity with no negative consequence to anyone.
