Theory on Advancing Civilization

It seems like you believe that capitalism is a kind of economic natural selection, but I encourage you to challenge that idea.

One point I’m trying to get across is that none of this has anything to do with what I believe. I am a decades long bleeding heart liberal who believes in some kind of universal income. I’m not numb to the facts. I understand the need to tear down the walls between the two hated words socialism and capitalism.

But none of that has anything to do with what a spacefaring future of humanity. I’m an older guy with a heart condition. I don’t have many decades left. However, I am 90% certain that humanity will take its first fragile steps toward being a spacefaring race within my lifetime. I’m also quite certain that there will be no major changes in the path that humanity has been on for the past few hundred years.

And if I’m wrong, wonderful! That’s the glory of pragmatism.

Hell, I hope you’re right. But I’ve been right a lot. When I told people at the beginning of his candidacy that the moron Trump would win, everyone told me I was crazy.

It sucks being right sometimes.

But at the end of the day, that doesn’t matter either. My overall point is that humanity is going to do what humanity is going to do.
