A theory on why the whole idea of god giving us rules makes god evil.

I can accept your premise God is real and he made the universe. I can't accept the premise that He gave a us laws to follow.

If the religious laws came from God, there would be no reason for any of the three main Abrahamic Religions to disagree with each other about how best to worship Him. You have Muslims observing Ramadan, Catholics not eating meat on Fridays and Jews not wanting to do any work on a Friday.

If any of the laws came from God, there would be some consitency as all three religions proclaim to worship the Same God. It's not like Allah and Yahweh are two separate people. He is one and the same. Therefore either he has multiple personality disorder or none of the three major religions have got it right.

Also, I was told that apparently heaven and hell are a more Christian thing than a Jewish thing so those religions can't even agree on what the afterlife if.

I did ask a Jewish friend where Jews go after they die and his response is that Judaism doesn't touch on death as much as Christianity. You are taught how to live a good life - you are not taught what to look forward to after you die, at least not explicitly.

With regard to Kosher diet, that actually has nothing to do with God himself and everything to do with the society that Jews come from - according to your own Holy Book, you came from Egypt which has a very hot climate and they didn't have refrigeration back then - so all of the avoiding certain combinations of meat and dairy as well as avoiding pork altogether come from real life concerns where food would go off and people would get sick.

If you eat Kosher, it simply means that you can live in a desert without a fridge and not get sick. It doesn't mean that you will go to hell if you dare to mix cheese and beef together.

People are interpreting what their ancestors tell them as being the Word of God. This is not true. Your Holy Books are simply what your great great great x 10000 generations ago grandparents said. Those grandparents may or may not have seen an apparition of God. There is no way to prove or disprove this, that's why it's called faith, meaning belief without proof.

Human society is a moralistic place to live - God himself exist outside of human society and is without moral - not evil - just not a being that has to confirm to our understanding of right / wrong and good / evil. God isn't any of those things. He just is. no qualifier afterwards.
