Therapist wanting to write letter for top surgery without knowing me...?

It's not a red flag, in fact there's a bunch of therapists (the galap) who work to help trans people access medical transition without the bs gatekeeping and making us jump through (expensive) hoops. If you had recently come out as trans, or were new to therapy (in the context of being trans) maybe yeah that could be a red flag.

Again, it was an offer, not a threat, she's not going to write a letter to your surgeon telling them to perform surgery on you no matter what. If you want to talk it over more then cool, do that, don't go into a surgery your unsure about.

I think it's a positive that you went to someone, said what you wanted, and that you'd already been to a surgeon, and she said "cool you know yourself best, what can I do to help"
