Therapy is useless.

More specifically, if something is wrong with someone that is a problem of their own making. I pointed out that faith healing may sometimes help a person with some kind of mental block - some kind of personal block. Meditation can do that, too. So can driving around. So can singing in the shower.

Faith healing will not cure your cancer, however. Nor will it remove/dissolve tumors. Faith healing can not inspire your heart or lungs to work better. Faith healing will not physically improve you in any way, shape, or form.

People can be helped by all sorts of things with mental blocks. Faith healing is not a legitimate thing, but for some people with the right circumstances, it can work. Again, this is assuming they have some kind of mental block or hangup that can be fixed by reframing their own state of mind. Faith healing, smoking pot, meditation, psychology, psychiatry, writing... all sorts of ways can get you there. Maybe.

For others, they go to psychologists. Does that mean psychologists are illegitimate? Sure, some psychologists will be useless for some people. The circumstances have to line up right, though. That doesn't mean all psychology is illegitimate.
