Homophobes and social influence are to blame for a lot of the increased problems that you mentioned. You didn't link to any articles or studies confirming the so-called "42% increased rate of child abuse" and it sounds like typical homophobic psuedo-science, so I'm not believing it.

Being a nudists, a nomads, a vegans, tattooed, kinky, home schooled, homeopathic, a Metal heads, a Wiccans, or a vampire-wannabe, does come with quite a bit of societal push-back, although they don't experience it as much as gays because they're less visible, not as large a percentage of the population, and there's nothing supposedly "in scripture" for any of the great world religions that specifically prohibits them.

Homosexuality isn't awfully abnormal, according to the APA,

the latest and best scientific evidence shows that sexual orientation and expressions of gender identity occur naturally, and pose no threat to societies in which they are accepted as normal variants of human sexuality.

The prevailing opinion within the scientific community is that there is a strong biological component to sexual orientation, and that it can be influenced by the interaction of genetic, hormonal and environmental factors. In short, there is no scientific evidence that sexual orientation, be it heterosexual, homosexual or otherwise, is a freewill choice.
