Is there any habit that you pick up from traveling to a new culture and then integrate it to your daily life at home? If so how does it turn out?

This is great, I was in Istanbul like 10 years ago and my father and I walked into a very impressive carpet shop. After some banter, I made it clear that we really weren’t going to buy a carpet and were just visiting and enjoying the culture. The shop owner was amazing and said that he understood. After some more friendly conversation he politely asked his wife to make some tea. She obliged and set up a table out in front of the shop. I must have sat in front of that shop with my old man and this adorable Turkish couple for 2 hours talking about everything and nothing. Occasionally someone else would walk in the shop and the husband would go tend to them. Ever since then I have made it a habit to invite more people into my home and sit down outside or inside and just talk and it has been amazing. It’s good to let the world slow down for a little while and just enjoy the people around you.
