Is there any way I can get my money back after my ex broke it off and offered no information about our holiday?

My ex boyfriends parents and two others were booked to go on holiday. The two others dropped out so me and my ex-boyfriend paid £50 to change the names over and I paid my ex-boyfriend money to cover my share of the holiday. He then paid this money to his step dad to sort out the details at the travel agents as the holiday was in his name. I received no details of this holiday in writing and after 3 weeks of booking my ex-boyfriend ended our 2 year relationship. When discussing the holiday he told me he would try and find someone else to go and said he advertised it online, I asked for the details of this and he never gave them to me. I rang the travel agents to see if I could remove myself from the booking or change my booking but they would not let me access anything on the booking as I was not the lead passenger. The holiday date arrived and I received a text to say that my ex-boyfriend couldn't find anyone else to go on the holiday. I have since seen on Facebook that he has still gone on our holiday and as I had no information at all, there was no way I could possibly have gone! Therefore I have lost all my money and had no holiday. Is there anything I can do to get my money back? As he has still gone on our holiday and there was no way in which I could have accessed any information as I was not given any by the family or travel agents and contacting the family was not an option.
