When I was a child I was embarrassed to talk to anyone about the fact that I was a Baha'i. It wasn't that I didn't believe what they taught us in children's class, but it was pretty intense. According to Nancy and Mary, and sometimes David or Carol, world society would start to crumble around the year 2020. Of course when I try to remember the countless things that they were right about, I come up short. But they could have told you that natural disasters were going to be a major problem, for instance, or that political systems would become so corrupt that they would fall apart. We all knew this was going to happen back in the 20th c. (and no, we aren't responsible for it). (Though if world leaders start showing up to potlucks with tabouli salad in one hand and the Ungame in the other, then maybe we are.) Also, if you're curious, it's supposed to get a whole lot worse. There's supposed to be a kind of dark ages after this.
