There are two types of mindsets people adopt when going on a date

Yeah I mean I went on a date with the former recently and it really makes me uninterested romantically because there was no playfulness, no fun, it was just small talk. I think its one thing to ask someone about their relationship goals so as not to waste time (like I always appreciate people asking me what I like longterm) so in that sense it should be a little interview-y, but then when someone is too judgemental about 1st impressions it takes all the fun out of dating and can make people clam up and not even give them a chance to show you who they are. For me, I do like to ask some question to screen out not serious people (at this age not looking to waste time), but I also don't weed people out for being awkward or nervous or not liking every single thing that I like on the 1st date.
