There is a fancy apartment building on my street that illegally keeps their trash bin in a parking space so they don't have to pay a company to bring it to the curb on trash day. I didn't like the sign they posted on it.

You would think but from what I've seen this isn't usually the case. If the lot is owned by the apartment complex, the police will not ticket or tow. It would be up to the owner of the lot to call and pay for a tow truck to remove the trash bin.

I know this because at one of my old jobs a customer's starter shit the bed in their van right after they parked. They left it there for weeks, cops wouldn't do a thing. Had to wait for the person to come back and replace the starter, in the damn parking lot no less, and drive it away. Almost a month later.

Also had a customer park in a handicapped spot and another customer (who has a disabled son) blocked him in, then called the cops because the driver clearly wasn't handicapped. Cop shows up and won't do anything. Says he has to move to let the blocked in driver get out.

Unfortunately justice doesn't always prevail. Cops hate paperwork and towns don't like paying for tow trucks.
