Is there a goal to life? Is there something humanity should be working to as a whole, or are we all just running our own races? [Serious]

What you need to understand is that life is a sandbox. Once you realize this, you realize the goal is doing whatever makes you the happiest. Theres no problem with just settling down like most people, if that makes you the happiest. You only have one life, that is crucial to make your decision.

For myself, i want to explore the world, get a sailboat and a car and just go sailing the worlds oceans and road tripping when im back at land. That is because i become extremely bored if i just stay in the same place and do the same things. But everyone is different, and everyone should strive for whatever goals makes them the happiest. Of course, you should follow moral rules like not causing harm to your fellow humans unless absolutely necessary, but barring that you have lots to do.

If you want to leave something behind write a book, fight for your political ideals, help others. You might not want to do such things tough, and thats mostly fine, barring the "help others" part, which everyone should strive to do.

This is all valid if you live in the first world and are middle class, if not you are screwed.
