Current active member here (ward/stake leadership callings, etc.). I’m BYU alumni and even was at one point a generous donor to BYU (enough to get dinner w Pres Samuelson and then Worthen every year). I very much care about the “Wilcox scandal”.

For the past ~6 years I’ve stopped donating to BYU and now am frequently embarrassed to have BYU on my resume. In some ways this is just the “flavor of the week” of BYU cringe. In other ways it showcases problems with the church as a whole.

I know of several people similar to me and even know a Stake patriarch vocally calling for Brads resignation. Don’t be naive. If you are a safe person to speak to, you may be surprised what people will tell you about how they really feel when you ask those outside your bubble.
