Is there a larger conspiracy on reddit to disavow climate change activists? Or am I crazy?

It's not a conspiracy as much as it's proof of how our society devolved from dealing with substance, to dealing with virtue signaling and appearances.

We don't care about what values people represent, or even if they have values - we only judge them by how their actions align with their words.

We are quick to call out any discrepancy, regardless of the bigger picture. We are cynical and short tempered, with the concentration abilities of goldfish and the patience of hungry apes.

If someone can't give us a foolproof solution to a complex problem, we regard them as hypocrites or suspect they are just trolling.

Basically, we already collapsed as a society. We can't differentiate substance from appearance, we can't tell who has our best interests in heart, and who is just for their own selfish reasons.
